This is Kentucky straight bourbon aged twelve years in new charred American oak, bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV). That extra time in barrel shows in the weight of it — the tannin is ripe rather than drying, and the vanilla reads as barrel sugar rather than candy. There is enough proof here to stand up to ice without going thin.
Distilled in 2021 and offered in a 750 mL bottle, it drinks well as an after-dinner pour and holds its shape in an Old Fashioned if you would rather stir something. Neat, it opens slowly and rewards a few unhurried minutes.
