Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength Rye Whiskey is a distillery single barrel: one cask of Old Forester rye, bottled unfiltered at barrel strength, from a mash of 65% rye, 20% malted barley, and 15% corn. That high malt beside the rye is why lemon custard and hazelnut sit next to dill and orchard fruit, and skipping filtration keeps the oils in the glass. Proof varies by barrel. Stir a Manhattan, or sip it neat.

Vanilla, lemon custard, and caramel open on dark brown sugar. Orchard fruit, cinnamon stick, dried dill, and hazelnut fill a full, oily body. The finish is long and spice-driven, black pepper and green anise still standing out on the palate.
