Rabbit Hole Founder's Collection Limited Edition Whiskey is the Mizunara: fifteen-year Kentucky straight bourbon from Kaveh Zamanian's private barrels, finished more than eleven months in rare Japanese Mizunara oak, cask strength at 103.8 proof (51.9% ABV). That porous Hokkaido wood is why sandalwood, orange, and a thread of incense ride beside walnut and leather. About 2,200 numbered bottles. Open it when the pour is the occasion.
Nutmeg, walnut, and leather open, lifted by mint, honey, and orange. Custard, banana, and cinnamon stand out on the palate, with tobacco; the mouthfeel is thick, and the finish fades through dark cherry into chocolate.
