Rare Character Maple Cask Finished Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Bourbon spends its life in charred oak, so a second stint in a maple cask is a genuine departure. This Indiana straight bourbon takes that finish and comes out sweeter across the top without losing the grain underneath. It is drawn from a single barrel and bottled at cask strength, undiluted, which is why the texture is thick and the sweetness never turns thin or candied.

Maple syrup and caramel lead, but they sit on something firmer: cocoa with a dry edge, worn leather, a lick of clove. Rye spice comes through late alongside a resinous pine note that cuts the sugar cleanly and keeps the finish long rather than sticky.
