RD1 Bourbon Whiskey Finished with Japanese Mizunara and French Oak is a limited Lexington release: five-year bourbon given a longer rest on medium-toasted French oak necklaces, blended with seven-year bourbon and eight-year rye, then a shorter finish on lightly toasted Mizunara staves so sandalwood and incense show without burying the grain. Bottled at 102 proof. The woods nod to Lexington’s sister cities in Japan and France. Pour it when you are sipping with friends.
Incense, sandalwood, and citrus blossom stand out on the palate, with rye spice, baking spice, dark chocolate, and red fruit behind them. The mouthfeel is silken; maraschino cherry and a light warming linger on a medium-to-long finish.
