Remus Repeal Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Remus Repeal Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Remus Repeal Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the 2022 Series VI annual limited blend from Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, bottled at 100 proof. Five high-rye bourbons aged eight to fourteen years — mostly 2012 and 2014 barrels, with a splash of 2008 — combine the distillery’s 21% rye and 36% rye mashbills. Fig jam, candied fruit, mint, and leather come from that older high-rye stock sitting in new char. It is an easy weeknight pour at this proof.
Candied fruit and fig jam lead, then nutmeg, toffee, and honey. Mint and saddle leather keep the sweetness in check through a creamy, medium-to-full sip. Rye spice and a little barrel char close a long, balanced finish.
