Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Pour this one neat and let it sit a minute. At 117.6 proof it lands with real weight, and the first thing through is chocolate cherry, dark and a little sweet, followed by brown sugar that thickens rather than fades. Molasses runs underneath it all. A twist of citrus cuts through before clove and leather settle in, and seasoned oak and tobacco linger long after the swallow.
This is a cask strength Kentucky straight bourbon drawn from a single rickhouse: Camp Nelson Rickhouse F, where the barrels sat in new charred American oak for ten years. Whiskey from one warehouse carries the stamp of that building, and this one shows it in the depth of its sweetness and the dry, tannic edge on the back end.
Bottled at barrel proof in 750 mL, undiluted. A large cube opens it up without dulling the fruit, if you want it a touch softer.
