Shortbarrel Cigar Blend American Whiskey is Shortbarrel's inaugural Cigar Batch: 9-year Kentucky American whiskey finished two years in rum and cognac casks, blended with 6-year Indiana bourbon finished in Armagnac and tawny port, 1,140 bottles, blended in Atlanta at 120 proof (60% ABV). Those brandy and port casks are why leather and candied fruit sit over the barrel heat. Save it for a late pour after a heavy meal.
Caramelized fruit and vanilla bean open onto smoky leather. Charred oak and baking spice fill a thick, velvety sip. Dried fruit and toasted oak hang on a long finish, heat wrapped in sweetness.
