Shortbarrel Double Oak Bourbon & Rye Whiskey is Shortbarrel's Double Oak Blend: straight bourbon and rye married first, then given a second maturation in new Kelvin oak with mixed char and a medium-plus toast, bottled in Georgia at 110.6 proof (55.3% ABV). Blending the two grains before the second barrel is why sweetness and rye spice share the same sip. It belongs in a rocks glass on a quiet night.
Maple, toasted sugar, and coconut ride a full sip with vanilla and cocoa. Rye pepper and baking spice cut the sweetness so the second oak does not turn sticky. Charred oak, toffee, and dry cocoa linger on a long finish.
