Shortbarrel Double Oaked Bourbon Whiskey

Shortbarrel Double Oaked Bourbon Whiskey is a limited Atlanta blend of Indiana and Kentucky straight bourbons — traditional and high-rye mashbills (typically 70/21/9 and 75/21/4) aged about five to ten years — then moved into new Kelvin Cooperage barrels for a second maturation of about seven months. Those Kelvin casks are medium-to-heavy toasted with a #5 char, so the second wood reads as caramelized sugar, cocoa, and a longer oak finish rather than a rinse. Small eight-barrel batches, non-chill filtered; the 2026 WSWA tasting in Las Vegas named it Best Overall Bourbon. Keep it for a Saturday sip.

Brown sugar, dark caramel, and vanilla cream fill a rich sip, with baking spice and cocoa powder in the middle. Toasted marshmallow and charred sugar from the Kelvin wood sit over the grain. The finish runs long and warm: toffee, vanilla, and dry cocoa with a measured char.
