Starlight Distillery Carl T. Huber's Tokaji Finished Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is one cask of Indiana farm bourbon, aged at least four years in new charred American oak, then finished in a Hungarian Tokaji wine barrel and bottled at cask strength, typically around 110 proof. Sweet-mash 3-grain and 4-grain distillate from the Huber estate gives the Tokaji cask stone fruit, honey, and tangerine to work with. Pour it when dessert is still on the table.
Stone fruit and honey lead, with tangerine and apricot preserves on a full, dessert-leaning sip. Butterscotch, clove, and cinnamon from the Hungarian oak keep it from turning sugary. Vanilla, toasted grain, and dried orange peel hang on a long, warming finish.
