Talisker Distillers Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the Isle of Skye malt after a second rest in Amoroso-seasoned casks: first American and European oak, then sweet sherry wood that lays dried fruit over sea salt and peat, bottled at 91.6 proof (45.8% ABV). Worm-tub stills at Carbost are why fig and cocoa show beside the smoke instead of replacing it. Pour it as an after-dinner dram.
Fresh sea air and seaweed open, then roasted fig, sweet date, and sticky caramel. Peat smoke, sea salt, and woody pepper stand out on the palate; the mouthfeel is oily and rounded, and the finish dries on cocoa nib, peat smoke, and lingering brine.
