Talisker Double Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky is Skye malt given a decade in oak and a finishing spell in Amoroso sherry casks, bottled at 91.6 proof (45.8% ABV). That second sherry wood is why red fruit and apricot ride over salt and peat on the same sip. Pour it over a large cube.
Red fruits, berries, and apricot lead, with vanilla and malt sweetness underneath. Sea salt and peat stand out on the palate; the body is crisp then full, and the finish lingers on fruit, salt, and a thread of smoke.
