The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the Aberlour distillery's flagship, named World's Best Single Malt at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. Independent since Billy Walker's 2017 buyout, it matures on site in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry, red-wine, and virgin oak casks — four woods that put dried fruit and mocha beside toasted hazelnut and cinnamon — then is bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) with no added colour and no chill filtration. Keep it for a weeknight pour.
Heather honey, dark chocolate, and sticky raisins lead, then marzipan, stewed apple, and butterscotch fill a full-bodied sip. Espresso, cocoa, and grated nutmeg stand out on the palate; the finish is medium-long, oily, and warm with cinnamon and orchard fruit.
