The Last Drop 1969 Glenrothes Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited independent bottling of Speyside malt distilled in 1969 and filled into neighbouring casks that slept for fifty years before Last Drop bottled them at cask strength in 2019. Two single casks, 16203 and 16207, yielded 271 bottles; that long rest in bourbon wood is what you taste as ripe fruit, citrus, and creamy vanilla. Pour it for a special night in.
Ripe fruit and citrus lead, then creamy vanilla and exotic spice stand out on the palate. The mouthfeel is smooth and concentrated after five decades. The finish is long and gently spicy, with fruit still showing at the end.
