The Last Drop 20 Year Old Japanese Blended Malt Whisky is a limited 180-bottle release of 100% Japanese-distilled malt, marrying 20-to-40-year Hanyu from the distillery's 1980–2000 working life with other Japanese malts, all matured in Mizunara. That water oak is what you taste as floral perfume, cardamom, and coconut around tropical fruit. Bottled at 120 proof (60% ABV). Pour a small glass when the evening can stretch.
Sweet florals, dried apricot, and almond open, then mango, papaya, lychee, and pineapple stand out on the palate with cardamom and coconut. The high strength is dense and spicy until it blooms. Tropical fruit and dry Mizunara linger on the finish.
