The Last Drop Drew Mayville's Kentucky Straight Whiskey Signature Creation is Release 28: Sazerac master blender Drew Mayville's one-time blend of vintage Buffalo Trace bourbon and rye from whiskeys he had been setting aside since 2004. He tasted more than 40 lots, then bottled the marriage uncut and unfiltered at 121.4 proof (60.7% ABV). Only 1,458 bottles exist. The rye brings spice; the bourbon brings creamy vanilla and dark fruit. Keep it for a fireside sit.
Figs, dates, and raisins lead, with citrus zest and candy orange peel behind them. Worn leather, wax, and rye spice stand out on the palate against dark chocolate and sweet vanilla; the mouthfeel is dense and high-proof, and the finish stays long on spice, chocolate, and seasoned wood.
