The Macallan Amber 1824 Series Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a discontinued no-age-statement Speyside malt from the 1824 Series, bottled from 2013 to 2018. Natural color comes from first-fill and refill sherry-seasoned American and European oak, with enough first-fill wood to land at a true amber hue. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). A quiet evening pour.
Vanilla, raisin, and sultana lead, with toffee apple, candy floss, and cinnamon behind them. Fresh green apple, lemon, and ginger stand out on the palate; the sip is light to medium, and the finish turns slightly dry on soft fruit and cereal.
