The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited James Bond collaboration from Speyside: distilled in 2007, matured eighteen years in bespoke hybrid sherry-seasoned European and American oak plus American oak that previously held red wine. Whisky maker Russell Greig bottled it at 91 proof (45.5% ABV). It is an after-dinner dram.
Polished oak, vanilla bean, and dried fruit lead, then creamy vanilla, caramel, and cocoa-dusted truffle fill a smooth sip. Coffee, fig, berry, and apricot stand out on the palate with nutmeg; the finish is long, warm, and a little dry.
