The Macallan’s Edition No. 5 is a Speyside single malt Scotch matured in sherry-seasoned American oak casks. Fresh fruit gives the palate a bright opening, while caramel and vanilla add a smooth, sweet center. Cinnamon brings a warm accent without pushing the whisky away from its straightforward style.
Bottled at 97 proof (48.5% ABV), it has enough strength to keep the oak spice clear alongside the sweeter flavors. Polished oak shapes a drier close, giving the finish a clean contrast to the opening. It can be served neat or over a large cube, depending on how firmly you want the proof to show. This 2019 release comes in a 750 mL bottle.
