The Macallan Reflexion Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited Masters Decanter Series malt matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned American and Spanish oak hogsheads. The smaller casks put more wood against the spirit, pulling a blood-orange natural color plus floral vanilla, apple, and apricot. Bob Dalgarno built the vatting; the faceted decanter is cut to throw that color. Bottled at 86 proof. Keep this one for a quiet late dram.
Orange zest and green apple open, with chocolate fudge and caramel toffee filling a full sip. Raisin, sultana, and a hint of cinnamon stand out on the palate. Boiled sweets and toasted oak close a medium, soft finish.
