The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited annual Speyside malt given a quarter-century in predominantly sherry-seasoned European oak on the Macallan Estate. Those Jerez-seasoned casks are why raisin, crystallized ginger, and rich oak read so deep, with entirely natural color. Bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) and scarce. Pour it while sipping with friends.
Raisin, crystallized ginger, and citrus open, then dried fruit, cinnamon, and a thread of wood smoke fill a full, rich sip. The mouthfeel is dense and polished. The finish is long, with dried fruit, spice, and a last echo of smoke.
