Non-peated Washington malts outweigh the peated malt in the six-malt bill, so smoke sits beside roasted cereal instead of covering it. The whiskey is filled mostly into new American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon and bottled at 92 proof. Pour it in cold weather.
Nuttiness, smoldering moss, and flamed orange peel open the sip, then campfire and a thread of iodine. Roasted pistachio and green herbs stand out on the palate. The finish stays savory and smoky, with the malt still easy to find under the peat.
