Widow Jane Decadence Maple Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey is the distillery's annual limited 10-year blended straight bourbon from Red Hook, Brooklyn, finished in American oak barrels that held Crown Maple syrup from New York's Hudson Valley. Ten years in new oak plus that maple wood put maple, pecan, and brown sugar in the glass without turning the sip sticky, and it is bottled at 91 proof (45.5% ABV), non-chill filtered, with limestone water from the Rosendale Mines. Pour it when the maple should show.
Maple and sugared pecan lead, with vanilla and burnt sugar filling a creamy, slightly sweet sip. Brown sugar and shortbread stand out on the palate; cinnamon bark and mellow tobacco ride a lingering finish that stays rich rather than sticky.
