Pour this one neat and it drinks easy. Oatmeal cookie sits right up front, sweet and grainy, with raisin behind it and a bright lift of citrus that keeps things from going heavy. Dark chocolate shows up later, and clove and nutmeg warm the finish without much heat. At 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV), it takes ice comfortably if that is how you drink bourbon.
This is a Kentucky bourbon made with oat grain, then given a toasted oak finish that softens the barrel character and pushes the baked, spiced side forward. It is an approachable pour rather than a big one, and it works as well in an old fashioned as it does on its own.
