Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Batch Proof Bourbon 121.2 Proof is the February 2024 limited batch from Woodford County: roughly 120 barrels of 5-to-7-year bourbon, including spirit from the upper floors of heat-cycled warehouses, bottled uncut at 121.2 proof (60.6% ABV). Those high-floor casks lose more to the air and throw darker oak, cherry, and tropical fruit onto the pot-and-column mash of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Presented in 700 mL. Pour it over a large cube.
Vanilla bean and brown-sugar pecan open, with pineapple and dried strawberry behind them. Cocoa, cinnamon, and toasted oak stand out on the palate; the mouthfeel is creamy and viscous, and the finish lingers on raw honey, red berry, and a thread of tobacco.
