Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Batch Proof Bourbon Whiskey
Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Batch Proof Bourbon Whiskey
Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Batch Proof Bourbon Whiskey is the 2020 Master’s Collection annual, the third Batch Proof, bottled at 123.6 proof (61.8% ABV) from the batch’s own strength. Chris Morris blended the house 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash from mixed warehouse barrels and left the water out, so raisin, cranberry, and sandalwood read louder. Limited and allocated on release. A slow evening sip.
Dried cranberry and raisin lead, with clove, aged leather, and spearmint behind them. Brown sugar, cocoa, and almond stand out on the palate; the sip is oily and drinks with little burn, and the finish runs long on malt, cedar, and dark chocolate.
