Yellowstone 2021 Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Limestone Branch Distillery’s annual from Lebanon, Kentucky: select 7-year barrels finished in Amarone casks, blended with 15-year Kentucky bourbon, and bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). Amarone is Valpolicella red wine made from partially dried grapes and aged at least two years in oak; those casks push black cherry, fig, dark chocolate, cracked pepper, and tobacco onto the caramel and vanilla of the older whiskey. Master Distiller Stephen Beam released 7,500 three-bottle cases. Pour it when the night runs long.
Black cherry and fig lead, with caramel, toffee, and dark chocolate behind them. Cracked pepper and tobacco stand out on the palate; the sip is medium-bodied with a structured warmth, and the finish lingers on cherry, black currant, and cocoa.
