Pour this one neat and it drinks like a dessert bourbon that never turns sweet. Apricot and plum lead, soft and orchard-ripe, with honey underneath giving the whole thing a rounded, almost syrupy weight. At 107 proof there is plenty of grip, but the fruit keeps the heat in check, and a single large cube opens it up without washing anything out.
Ten years in barrel built the foundation: caramel, cinnamon warmth, and the darker tone of mature oak that only comes with real time on the wood. The Armagnac cask finish is where the stone fruit comes from, a French brandy influence layered over Kentucky whiskey rather than pasted onto it.
Distilled in 2022 and bottled at 750 mL, this is the kind of bourbon worth keeping within reach rather than saving for an anniversary. It holds up to a splash in a Manhattan, though it says more on its own.
