Booker’s 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bourbon Whiskey
Booker’s 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bourbon Whiskey is the one-time December 2018 release from Jim Beam in Clermont, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 125.8 proof. Fred Noe built it as 70% bourbon aged 9 years and 30% bourbon aged 16 years, on the Beam mash of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley. The 16-year whiskey was too oak-heavy on its own, so the 9-year majority keeps vanilla and caramel under that older wood. Nearly half the barrels came from the fifth floor of Warehouse E, and the rest from Warehouse H. Silver wax marks the bottle.
Beam described robust vanilla and oak and a quick, dry finish. The Whiskey Jug found a full, oily body of oak, dark fruit, cinnamon, cocoa, and peanut brittle. Adventures in Whiskey tasted dark caramel, vanilla bean, molasses, toasted oak, and leather, and the finish stayed dry.
