Buchanan’s Select 15 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is Craig Wallace’s blended malt, worth buying because the glass is entirely single malt. Every whisky in the blend is aged 15 years, drawn from distilleries across Scotland, and the bottle has been a permanent Buchanan’s expression since 2018. At 80 proof, the mature barley shows up as toasted oak and a light twist of peat, with orchard fruit still bright beside the smoke. Whisky Advocate scored it 93.
Caramel, apple, ripe pear, and walnut sit against toasted oak. A little peat smoke lifts the middle, and spice dries the finish.
