Chicken Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the Bardstown flagship, bottled at 90 proof. Since 2022 it has been distilled only at Bardstown Bourbon Company, with master distiller Gregg Snyder working alongside Steve Nally. The mash is 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley, aged at least 4 years in new oak with a level 3 char and a medium-plus toast. That rye share puts baking spice beside the caramel, so it drinks like a classic Kentucky bourbon with a firmer grain line.
Caramel and vanilla lead, with baked apple, toasted oak, and baking spice. The body is full without turning hot, and the finish runs medium to long, coming back to caramel, vanilla, and a last thread of spice.
