Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Limited Release Bourbon Whiskey is the 2025 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection bottling, the first new member of that set since Thomas H. Handy in 2006. Buffalo Trace aged mashbill #1 for 15 years and 4 months, then hand-bottled it in bond at 100 proof. That extra age is why maple, vanilla, and seasoned oak read deeper than they do in the regular bonded Taylors, without jumping to barrel proof. This is the Antique Collection bonded bourbon, not the separate Warehouse C 10-year.
Warm vanilla, maple, and caramel lead, with baking spice and seasoned oak in the middle. A hint of cherry shows on the finish, and the sip stays balanced and long rather than hot.
