Cream of Kentucky Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is a 70-barrel release of 100% estate-grown Rymin rye, distilled, aged, and bottled at Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Crestwood. It is bottled in bond at 100 proof after aging 6 years, the first bonded rye under Jim Rutledge's revival of the brand. One grain and one season in new charred oak make this the minty, peppery rye in the lineup, not the 7.5-year single barrel and not any of the bourbons.
Spearmint and cinnamon ride brown sugar and black pepper. Raisin and plum show up mid-palate with anise and a bready, honeycomb rye. The mouthfeel is silky. The finish is medium, warming, and spicy, with allspice and a last raisin note.
