Elmer T. Lee 100 Year Tribute Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey
Elmer T. Lee 100 Year Tribute Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey
Elmer T. Lee 100 Year Tribute Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is Buffalo Trace's 2019 commemorative single barrel, bottled at 100 proof for what would have been Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee's 100th birthday. It uses Mash Bill #2, the higher-rye recipe, bottled from one cask at 100 proof. Lee created Blanton's in 1984, the first commercially marketed single-barrel bourbon; proceeds from this limited release went to Frankfort VFW Post 4075, where he was a member. The kind of bottle that earns a second glass with friends.
Maple syrup and vanilla lead, with berries and caramel in the middle. Toasted pecan and oak follow. The mouthfeel is velvety. The finish is long and sweet, coffee, toasted oak, and vanilla holding on.
