Found North Batch 006 17 Year Old Cask Strength Canadian Whisky is a 3,512-bottle blend of five Canadian whiskies aged 17 to 26 years, bottled in Dover, New Hampshire at 128.2 proof. Corn does the work (87% corn, 12% rye, 1% malted barley): the same foundation whisky as Batch 002 with another 20 months on it, 26-year Hungarian-oak corn for demerara, and 17-year ex-bourbon corn for butterscotch, with Hungarian-oak and recharred American-oak ryes for pepper, mesquite, and bright fruit. Bring it out when you want the whiskey in front, not the mixer.
Maple syrup, caramelized apple, and leather lead a chewy, oily sip of treacle, honey, and molasses. Butterscotch, figs, sugared strawberry, nutmeg, and dark chocolate stretch the finish, with baking spice and a little peppermint at the close.
