George Dickel 18 Year Old Limited Release is Cascade Hollow’s 18-year bourbon, bottled at 90 proof from barrels chosen for traditional bourbon notes after eighteen years in single-story rickhouses. Same 84/8/8 mash as the rest of the house, small-batch blended, released in 2023 as a limited $510 bottling. At this age most American whiskey dries out; Nicole Austin’s point was brightness still showing through the oak. Fits a cold-weather night as easily as an after-dinner dram.
Crème brûlée and stone fruit lead, with maraschino cherry, vanilla, and whipped-cream sweetness over baking spice and dark chocolate. The sip is smooth and only moderately oaked for 18 years: caramel, maple, and a little camp coffee, then mellow char and pepper on a long finish.
