Glenfiddich Experimental Series IPA Experiment Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glenfiddich Experimental Series IPA Experiment is Malt Master Brian Kinsman's collaboration with Speyside brewer Seb Jones: a bespoke India pale ale, British Challenger hops, seasoned American oak, then about three months of whisky in those casks. It is the first experiment in the series, a no-age-statement single malt bottled at 86 proof, and it stays in the lineup. The hop wood puts a zesty, herbal edge on orchard fruit rather than turning the glass into beer. Fits a cold-weather night as easily as an after-dinner dram.
Ripe green apple, Williams pear, and spring blossom open, then zesty citrus and creamy vanilla. Fresh hops show as a clean herbal bitterness on the finish, with sweetness that hangs on. Light and silky. It is the hop-seasoned Glenfiddich, not Project XX and not Winter Storm.
