Twenty-six years in American oak ex-bourbon casks sit behind this Speyside single malt, and the length of that maturation shows in how gently it lands. At 86 proof (43% ABV), the whisky is soft on entry without being slight. Ripe pear leads, sweet and orchard-fresh, with vanilla settling in behind it.
Brown sugar gives the palate weight, and a dry spice runs through the second half to keep the sweetness in check. Floral notes lift the whole thing, and the oak that follows is polished rather than heavy, which is what long years in well-chosen casks tend to give.
