Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited 92-proof malt, the first Glenmorangie made from barley kilned with woodland botanicals: juniper berries, birch bark, and heather flowers. It then ages in bourbon barrels, including many refill casks, so pine and eucalyptus stay in front of the oak. That kilning is why you get forest greenery and a wisp of smoke. Pour it neat when you want something herbal in the glass.

Pine, juniper, and coriander open with roasted chestnut and a thread of smoke. The sip turns to eucalyptus, peppermint, and bitter orange over vanilla, with a hint of black liquorice. The finish is slow and gently oaky, still minty.
