High West The Prisoner’s Share Whiskey
High West The Prisoner’s Share Whiskey is an annual limited blend of straight bourbon and rye — four to twelve years, from High West, MGP, and other American stills — finished in French oak that held The Prisoner red blend from Napa. Shared Constellation ownership is how those wine casks show up in Park City. Bottled at 102 proof, never chill-filtered. The wine wood stains the whiskey with dark fruit and tannin while rye spice keeps the structure. Save it for an after-dinner dram.
Black cherry and raspberry preserves sit on pecan brittle, cacao, and light-roast espresso. Fig, brown-butter caramel, and seasoned French oak fill a medium-thick palate, then black currant and gentle rye spice linger. It drinks like a dessert pour with real whiskey backbone — fruit and coffee, then spice on the close.
