Highland Park Gulf Coast Edition Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Highland Park Gulf Coast Edition Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Highland Park Gulf Coast Edition Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a Florida-exclusive single cask: distilled in 2007, eleven years in a first-fill European oak sherry butt, bottled in 2019 at 131.6 proof from cask 5260 — 549 bottles, natural color. Gordon Motion picked it for participating Florida retailers. European oak sherry at that strength means raisin, chocolate, and pepper before the peat shows. Keep a little water beside an after-dinner dram.
Raisin and prune meet vanilla and dark chocolate, then black pepper, brine, and a soft thread of smoke. It is thick and hot neat; water pulls the sherry fruit forward and leaves a long, spicy, coastal finish.
