Iron Smoke Casket Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited, uncut small-batch bourbon from Tommy Brunett's distillery in Fairport, New York. Before the mash — corn, rye, wheat, and barley — the grains are smoked over applewood, then the whiskey ages in triple-charred virgin American oak and is bottled at 120 proof with no other distillate in the mix. Unfiltered and undiluted. Mix it into a spirit-forward cocktail.
Butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel lead, with a sweet applewood smoke that reads as baked apple more than campfire. Baking spice, pecan, and a little tobacco come through as it sits, and the 120-proof body is viscous and hot. The finish is long, spicy, and lightly sweet.
