Kilchoman Batch Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the farm distillery’s high-strength core malt: 50 ppm peat, matured on Islay in re-charred red wine casks, oloroso sherry butts, and bourbon barrels, then brought with a few drops of water to a consistent 114 proof. That set strength is why Kilchoman calls it batch strength. The wine casks load red fruit and caramel onto the distillery’s citrus-and-smoke spirit. Pour it over a large cube.
Intense peat meets fresh cherry, heather, and lemon. Toffee, vanilla, and salted caramel fill a viscous sip, with peppery spice and lasting smoke. The finish is long and silky — honeyed malt, a little tobacco, and peat that does not blow out the fruit.
