Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 Limited Release RC6 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 Limited Release RC6 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 Limited Release RC6 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the first nationally released Wood Finishing Series bottle: fully matured Maker’s from Loretto, Kentucky, finished with ten RC6 virgin American oak staves—seasoned outdoors for 18 months, then toasted—in a second barrel in the limestone cellar. Only 255 barrels. Bottled at cask strength, 108.2 proof (54.1% ABV). Pour it on a cold night when ripe fruit and baking spice should share the glass.
Vanilla, creamy caramel, and baking spice open, with apricot, red apple, and gingerbread standing out on the palate. Toffee and a hint of chocolate-covered banana linger; the body is rich, and the finish is long, spicy, and warming.
