Marqués de Casa Noble Extra Añejo Tequila
Cooked agave leads, sweet and unmistakable, with vanilla settling in behind it. Dried fruit follows, dark and a little jammy, and there is chocolate underneath that gives the whole thing weight. Spice and French oak carry the close, warm rather than sharp.
This comes from the Tequila Valley in Jalisco, made from Blue Weber agave and built from a blend of añejo and extra añejo tequilas rested in French oak. At 80 proof (40% ABV), it stays soft and approachable, the kind of bottle you can pour on a Tuesday without feeling you have used something up. It is additive free and certified organic, which means what is in the bottle is agave, time, and oak.
The 750 mL bottle sips well on its own, and the chocolate and dried fruit notes hold up nicely after a meal.
