Midleton Very Rare 2023 Vintage Release Irish Whiskey is the 40th limited vintage from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland: pot still and grain stocks aged 13 to 36 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak, with more refill casks so the distillate leads. O’Gorman raised traditional and light pot still and eased the grain, which brightens ripe fruit and spice. Bottled at 80 proof. Save it for a cold-weather sip.
Nectarine, melon, green apple, and apricot open the glass, with ginger and crushed peppercorn riding the sip. Honeycomb and roasted coffee sit under a creamy, camomile-soft texture. Candied orange and dried apricot carry a long finish into antique grain.
