Nikka From the Barrel Blended Whisky is a Japanese blend of more than a hundred malt and grain whiskies, built mainly from Yoichi and Miyagikyo malts plus Miyagikyo Coffey grain, then returned to cask for a few months of marriage before bottling at 102.8 proof. That extra rest is why vanilla, chocolate, and orange peel come together as one thick sip. It is a core Nikka blend with that married, high-proof intensity. Give it a large cube.
Vanilla, chocolate, and orange peel open on a thick, sweet mouthfeel. Toffee, dried fruit, and cinnamon stand out on the palate, with a hint of smoke. The finish is long, woody, and pleasantly bitter, still full of malt sweetness.
