Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2017 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the limited annual Birthday Bourbon for George Garvin Brown: 120 barrels distilled May 27, 2005, aged 12 years in heat-cycled warehouses — 93 spice-forward barrels on the fourth floor of warehouse G, 27 sweeter barrels on the fifth floor of warehouse K — then bottled at 96 proof, with some Florida lots at 95.4 after vapor left the bottling line. The mash is 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Share it when you are sipping with friends.
Toasted oak, black pepper, and orange oil open on toffee and golden honey. Oak spice and charred pepper ride over chocolate custard and kola nut in a mouth-coating body. The finish is long, floral and cocoa powder lingering after the spice.
