Penelope Estate Collection 9 Year Old Private Select Bourbon Whiskey BS is the 2023 barrel-strength Private Select: nine-year four-grain bourbon — 85% corn, 10% rye, 2% wheat, and 3% malted barley — blended from Indiana and Kentucky whiskey and bottled uncut at 109 proof. Extra years in charred oak pull burnt caramel, raspberry, and dry spice forward at true barrel strength. Save it for cold weather.
Burnt caramel, butterscotch, and raspberry open, then cinnamon sugar, vanilla, and cherrywood. The body is rich and proofy without shouting. Pepper, leather, and dry spiced oak run a long, spicy finish.
